Contest #2: My Pocket Story – Theme for contest

Welcome to the “My Pocket Story-Build your own tale” contest!

Before you start, please note that the contest window is for 24 hours.  You have 24 hours to build your tale and submit it.

 

There are 2 lists given below. One of them is a list of words, and other is a list of themes.

You have to pick at least any 5 words and 1 theme and write a story using those words and the theme. The word limit is between 200 words to 1000 words. Send the story as a Word document attachment via email to tellatale13@gmail.com with the email subject “My Pocket Story”.

Remember it is mandatory that you have registered to Tell-A-Tale.com or Youthopia.in before you can send in your entry.

List of themes (participants must choose at least 1 theme):

  1. Loneliness
  2. Internet and social media

  5. Time for a change

  7. Pets

 

Rules:

  1. You must choose at least 5 words and 1 theme from the lists given above to build your short story.
  2. The contest window is 24 hours and your time starts now. You must submit the story on the website within this window, only then your story would be considered for evaluation.
  3. Your user account has been created on the website you registered to. Your story will be visible on tell-a-tale.com under your name within the next 24 hours after contest closes, i.e. 27th April. Please note: Your story must meet the contest guidelines, in order to proceed to next level. Additionally, if it contains content not suitable for publishing, it will be rejected.
  4. Once the story has gone live, please promote it in your circles, including social media sites. On social media sites, use the hash-tag #mypocketstory. People can vote for your entry by clicking on the Facebook like, re-tweet and +1 buttons provided at the end of each post. The more votes your story fetches, the more are chances of your winning the contest. Every tweet, like, +1’s and comment would fetch you one mark in the voting section.
  5. You will have 10 days to promote your story on social media, i.e. up to 7th May, and collect as many votes possible. Your score for social media promotion would be locked after this period and no further likes or re-tweets would be considered.
  6. All stories that are open to social voting will also be sent to the judges. In case two stories tie on social voting scores, the final decision will be based on judge’s score. The final score of published entries will be a combination of social voting score and judge’s score.

Please note: A user account in your name has been created in your name using the email ID provided on the website you registered to, in order to publish your post. If you wish to blog on Tell-A-Tale.com in future you can use the same account. Alternately, you may choose to delete this account after the contest is over.
