I pick the daily paper,
I stare wonder-struck.
Those three words jump out at me.
Re-read it to make sure,
Unbelievable! I say,
And get away.
I turn instead to that infinite source,
Every “connected’ person’s daily med course.
I can’t believe what I see
Yet again, those three words jump out at me.
It’s all over the place,
Every video, news, every fresh page.
“Germany rapes Brazil”
That couldn’t really be real!
Last I knew, winning was a matter of pride
Unlike rape, not a crime.
So, what was with the innuendo?
Was the new dictionary so starved of words?
Or was the mind behind the fingers
Such a moronic dud?
For rape is not funny,
And rape is not = winning, honey.

Really unbelievable! – Illustrates the attitudinal and linguistic poverty.
