Our team wanted to something different to celebrate World Storytelling Day this year. We brainstormed, came up with ideas – another story writing contest, a story camp, a story exchange…we wanted something that was short and fun, and where we could get as many of our readers as possible to participate. Hence came up the idea of a “6 word story” contest. 6 prompts, 6 words, 1 story. Twitter was the obvious choice of platform for this contest, with its love for byte sized messages. So we launched the contest, which went on for 2 days – the weekend – 19th and 20th of March, 2016.
And what a response we got – 196 stories on the first day!
The consequent 48 hours were the toughest of our lives, trying to choose 6 best stories out of 196 phenomenal stories, each unique in its own way.

Nice. It coincided with the eve of Twitter completing 10 years.
A lucky coincidence made awesome by all the contest participants. It was almost punishing to pick up just 6 tales from all those awesome contributions that we had received. The delay in announcing the results says it all 🙂
Hi, it’s amazing to see my story chosen as one of the winning entries.
But a small mistake I see, my twitter name is not “Chef802” it’s “Chef800”.
Oops! Our Bad. Thanks for pointing out. We will rectify it asap
