My Story for #Selfies4School

I am Heta Gala. Today, I am proud, where I am. I have completed my education from one of the best schools, colleges and Universities. Because of my hard work, the teachings of my great professors and due to the blessings of my mother, today I am a Chartered Finance Analyst and now even a writer (amateur writer).
I belong to a community where, a woman getting educated is not that important. At a very tender age, she gets married. There is a notion that follows that a girl’s only responsibility is to look after her family and her second home is the kitchen. Her only work is to cook, serve and keep her family happy. But, what about her happiness? No one bothers to ask, what will make her happy. She is expected to be happy, at what others ask her to be. But, because of my mom, my life isn’t that way. In my life, my mother has played a very important role. She always wanted her daughter to do what she desires, not what others want her to be. Today, I am able to write so flawlessly because of the education I got, because of my mom’s support and because of the God who has blessed me with the power of thinking and expressing the same in the form of words.
Today, I have my own blog (heta1311.wordpress.com) and my writing is appreciated by many people out there. I never knew my words could change peoples’ lives and can have a great impact in someone else’s life. I receive many emails from my followers and their positive words and feedback for my writing brings a smile on my face. Truly, education has played a very important role in my life and everyone has a right to get educated.

I had received a mail from Tell a Tale to participate in a campaign ”Selfie4school Blogathon” and share a post on how education has altered my life today, which in turn could change the lives of a few girls who would get a chance of getting educated. I thank both, the Tell a Tale and the Breakthrough TV for letting me take pride by writing a post which could make someone’s life better and brighter. A girl is not a burden, she is the one who takes the unbearable pain for continuous nine months and brings a life into this world. She is a strong person and she deserves equal respect and rights as that of a man.
